Wigan Grammar School
Trophies

Sports & Work Trophies

During research for the website www.wigangrammarschool.co.uk we discovered that nine School Trophies were in storage at Wigan Heritage Services; others had been given to schools in the Borough after the closure of the School in 1972. The trophies are now on loan to us from Wigan Heritage Services and on display in the Thomas Linacre Centre (formerly the Fourth Wigan Grammar School) on the ground floor in the area between the old gymnasium and the senior chemistry laboratory. The Project has been financed by a Brighter Borough Grant from Wigan Council negotiated by councillor Henry Cadman. Also on display in the Thomas Linacre Centre are the School War Memorials and Honours Boards.
